Sadness

Thursday, December 28th, 2006

The saddest quote by the funniest man ever born in this planet: "I always like walking in the rain so no one can see me crying." ~ Charlie Chaplin

We often hide what we truly feel. I personally don’t always confide my problems not because I’m afraid to show my weakness but I don’t like to drain the energy of the people around me. I guess happy people like me when caught in a problem is too much to take or was it just me?

Love People

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

Let us love with all hearts and accept the unlovable side of others. For anyone can love a rose, but only a great heart can include the thorns.

Everytime I read this line it reminds me about the imperfection of human and so we just need to be open minded and care for everybody. Whenever we think we need to hate one person, let us remember that he got a quality that is worth loving.

Romantic Love and Friendship

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

One day Romantic Love and Friendship met on the road of life.

Romantic Love: What’s your use when I already exist?

Friendship (smiling humbly): I’m here to put a smile when you put tears.

Indeed, we treasure our friends because no matter what we are, even if they’ve known our true self, they accept us. I love my friends.

Forgiveness

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

A little boy was asked what forgiveness is. He gave a beautiful answer: "It is the fragrance that flowers give when they are crushed."

It’s really beautiful. When we’re hurt we usually don’t see the benefit of the pain and suffering but as we try to contemplate we’ll realize that the mere act of forgiving somebody who caused us pain elevate us to be a better person, we became more compassionate, and we learn the true meaning of love.

Coach Carter Movie

Friday, December 15th, 2006

I’d been meaning to watch the movie and it was only last night that I got a chance, didn’t able to watch it from the start but I sure will watch out for the schedule and complete the whole film.

Favorite quote, there can only be one striking quote that was stated by Timo Cruz’s character in the movie, that’s his answer for Coach Carter’s question "What’s your deepest fear?" His answer: "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It’s not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." As soon as I heard it, it’s another testimony that it is worth it to be happy and optimistic. It’s worth it to be the good influence than become a distraction.

I also love the idea of being a team. "One person struggles, we all struggle. One person triumphs, we all triumph." If all human think this way, we’ll be living heaven on earth; and it’s possible.

Happy Ending

Sunday, December 10th, 2006

Father Paul shared one of Marilou-Diaz Abaya’s nuggets of wisdoms during his homely today; it says "If it’s not happy ending, it’s not yet over".

There are really times that we slip and end up thinking that we’re really sad that we don’t find the great reason to be sensible, participative of our surroundings, find the optimism to live life to the fullest! Those moments come and we just give up hope but after hearing the line from Father Paul it gave me another grateful idea to hold on that being positive is really good. Unless everything is good, then there is that spark of hope that it’s good to believe and neglect negativity!

Inspiring Lady Entrepreneur: Vivienne Tan

Sunday, December 10th, 2006

I am so thankful to Margie Quimpo-Espino who wrote the article about Vivienne Khao Tan, daughter of the business tycoon Mr. Lucio Tan, today at Inquirer with the title "Not quite the rich, spoiled kid". I am indeed impressed on Vivienne’s words who created the Entrepreneurs School of Asia who said, "None of my graduates will get a job, they will create jobs".

She was concern with the poverty in the Philippines, she saw that her father is employing one million people, and she taught if she creates entrepreneurs like her father then she’s helping the nation eliminate unemployment and thus give descent income to most of the Filipinos. I admire her so much; she saw the problem and created a solution! Amazing lady at age 38!
